Rock Band: Frii Spirit vs. Blue Skies Katipunan
Internet Cafes are now rising up to offering a new kind of entertainment facility. Definitely, you must bring your friends over (including your date) to either Frii Spirit or Blueskies Katipunan, where you can play Rockband to the fullest of its potential: flat screen wall-mounted LCD TV, a full band set, and sound proof (almost ) rooms.
For those living in another planet, Rock Band is a wii/PS2 game where you can play guitar, drums, bass and even vocals like a real professional band, sans the talent fee.

We tried both Katipunan wii shops and we personally liked Blue Skies better. Here’s why:
Frii Spirit:
There are no rooms
Wii based
The equipment is kinda old
There’s a 500 peso membership fee if you really want to play Rockband (nonmembers can only play guitar hero)
But you can play other Wii games
Check out some Frii Spirit Photos from Metrogimik:

Wii-ing in Frii Spirit

Many wii games to choose from
Blue Skies:
Sound-proof rooms
Up-to-date songs and equipment
No membership needed
Getting inside the Rockband rooms (similar to videoke rooms) inside Blue Skies may be a bit of a challenge because of the smell of smoke from the internet cafe outside, but inside, its as clear as you can get.
Bring a date and rock it out.
Frii Spirit charges P100 per person per hour for non-members and P75 for members. Bluskies charges P200 per room plus P50 for each equipment. Brinf as much as 7 people with you and you’re all set.
For newbies, turn on the “no-fail” function. Come early and allot waiting time as these rooms can get really really packed, specially on weekends. Lastly, it really is more fun if you have a full band – including a vocalist.
Frii Spirit is in Burgundy Tower. Check out the Frii Spirit Blog.
Blue Skies is near KFC Katipunan. Check out the Blue Skies Friendster Profile.
