The chance to take a date inside the magnificent world-class airplane hangar where giant planes can be touched, laid back on and explored in all it’s bare glory is certainly once in a lifetime.

LTP has a four-bay hangar and workshops occupying 110,000 square meters in Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Inside are facilities that were upgraded to the highest industry standards to accommodate airframe maintenance, major modifications, cabin reconfigurations, engine maintenance, and painting for Airbus A330, A340, A320, Boeing B747-400 and B737 aircraft. LTP has earned repair station certifications from the US-FAA, EASA (JAA) and other airworthiness authorities.

I was lucky enough to be given the chance and the spectacular scenes before me seemed straight out of Armageddon! I wish I had the chance to take a date there.

Anyway, the hangar services the biggest airplanes in the world where they are stripped, repaired and improved with the best of Filipino mechanics and engineers. Who knew there was something like this in the country?

Pushing a plane is harder than I thought

Be careful, a false step might send you crashing on the many metal frames holding the planes together. But the best part is actually seeing the plane at eye-level and being able to touch it’s parts, specially the wings.
