Greenbelt 3: My Cinema

I was lucky enough to be given free tickets courtesy of Levi’s Loop, and I decided to bring gf to watch Terminator 4: Salvation on a Saturday night at Greenbelt 3: My Cinema.

The movie itself is another topic, and in this entry I’m just focusing on the theater. My Cinema is a small private theater that sits about a hundred people. Think of it as your college audiovisual viewing room, taken to a higher level – plush seats, digital big screen, and no annoying movie mates.

Unfortunately, we arrived late at the screening and had no choice but to sit on the carpeted stairs, hence I can’t give you a review of the very plush and comfortable looking seats.

I can tell you one thing though – a lot of people gave negative reviews on the Terminator movie but I was able to somewhat enjoy and focus on it thanks to the big and crisp LCD screen in front of me. Terminator was like Star Wars with the special effects shown, and we sat wide-eyed and glazed looking at it.

I don’t know if My Cinema in Greenbelt 3 is available for regular screenings (do they work like Director’s Club of SM where the fees are at P300 per movie, but with lazy-boy chairs, unlimited popcorn and drinks?), but if it is and it costs the same, I’ll recommend you skip it and go with Director’s Club instead.

Why? It looks like it has a nice lobby and all, but the chairs aren’t lazy-boy and I couldn’t see any free-flowing popcorn or drinks anywhere. Hey, if I’m going to spend, I at least want the best value for my money.
