Dencio’s Araneta: Drink and be Merry

Dencio's is indeed Pugad Baboy
Okay, okay. I’ll admit Dencio’s at Araneta Center isn’t really a date place. Not if you don’t want to:
a. Eat with a bunch of Dencio’s beer-guzzling folk
b. Smell like Dencio’s sizzling sisig afterwards
c. Be seen as a Pugad Baboy cast member
But then again, I did take my family out on a date and all we wanted was good food. You can date your family, can’t you? And you can even bring your friends, too – the beer promos are crazy cheap.
Anyway, we got the staples: rice (P25 per cup), sizzling crispy sisig (P185), fried kangkong (P125) and sizzling chicken with gravy (P185).
I wish I had food shots to show you but we were too ravished. We dug in and here are my comments:
1. The sisig, albeit too onion-y, was crispy just the way I like it! Loved it. Kudos at Dencio’s.
2. The fried kangkong was greasy – as expected. I would have had it less greasier, but then again, how can that happen?
3. The sizzling chicken in gravy was okay. It would have tasted great if I was drunk.
The service, however, was extremely awful :-/. The place wasn’t even that full, but it seemed like nobody cared about us paying customers. Not going back there, definitely.

bad service at dencio's
Just thankful for the Dencio’s Pugad Baboy comic strips that helped pass the time while we were waiting for our orders.
P200 per person is fine.
Stay away and bring your date to Italianni’s. If bringing the family or the friends, head to Gerry’s instead of Dencio’s – same food, better service.
