Sweet Chocolate Kiss (es) in Quezon City on Wednesdays
On Wednesday nights, you know where to go: Chocolate Kiss along Roces, perpendicular to Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
Chocolate Kiss lobby
It may look like a hole in a wall but Chocolate Kiss is a treasure trove of what could be a memorable night. Those living in the Diliman area or alumni of UP may be more familiar with the Bahay ng Alumni branch, but I personally think the Roces banch deserves a little bit of an attention, too.
Start the night right by exploring the treasure trove above Chocolate Kiss aptly named Books for Less. It’s a literary minefield of second hand books that are both cheap and rare. It’s big and it will take a bit of time to go through the shelves, but you’ll find a good hard-bound book for 70-80% off its bookstore price.
After exploring, head downwards for your Chocolate Kiss dinner, with a jazz quartet in the background. The ambiance is dreamy and the food is divine, if you play your cards well on what to order.

I recommend you play it light on the main course and leave lots of room for dessert – carrot cake, dayap cake, and the oreo cheesecake. They are all divine and the perfect night cap to a (hopefully) romantically perfect night out.

Oh, and do try the iced tea – it’s a syrup based drink that you concoct yourself together with some calamansi.
P300 per person for main course + drink + split dessert. Not bad at all.
Don’t be shy to request for a song from the jazz quartet, but do choose a nice song to leave a good impression as well.
